About me and my history in Bricklaying and construction
I am a self-employed Bricklayer based in
Neath of South Wales - UK with over 30 years of experience in the
construction industry.
I finished my 3 year apprenticeship with housing development company I.G
Hale Ltd of Neath Abbey, Neath when I was 19 and have since worked in
many different areas in Wales, England and abroad.
For the last 6 years 90% of the projects
I have worked on have been self-build accommodation (click
here to find out about building your own house). Before this for approximately 5
years I was based with timber-frame type dwellings.
Since completing my apprenticeship many
years ago - I have worked for and with various partners, and with larger
teams of professionals under well-established and high rated
construction businesses in South Wales, to name but a few, include:

| I have been
self-employed since 1982 - during this time I have completing many
projects on a sub-contract basis with some of these firms and many
others not listed, as well as being directly employed.

In the late 1980's my then partner
Steve James and myself formed our own company by the name of
Glamorgan Brickwork Contractors - in which to this day is still a
success and ran by Steve. I opted out of being a partner in
this business 5 years into setting up to work abroad.
I have worked with many
different types of face brickwork bounds over the years,
including quarter bound in Germany. I have worked with many
different types of stone including random and dressed stone, stone
heads, sills, window and door surroundings. |

have also done a large range of projects relating to led work over
bays, porches and in and around chimneys. I have also built
many types of fireplaces and feature work. Click
